For next week, prepare a CD and present it to the class. Since this is an ESL class, focus should be on vocabulary, idioms, expressions, theme, etc. But also discuss music, including vocals and accompaniment. Prepare your presentation with a Beginning, Middle, and End. Find a strong Introduction and create an equally strong conclusion. Include an Evaluation too, or why you like or dislike the record. By using iTunes (www.itunes.com) you can edit parts of the song for demonstration purposes.Obviously since this is an ESL class and not a music class, focus, like I said, should be on vocabulary or idiomatic usage. However, if you can explore new vocabulary and introduce that to the class by discussing music (vocal quality or instrumentation and arrangement), in other words, if you can do this in an instructive manner for the class, then discussing other aspects of the record is valid also.
