THE OCEANA ROLL
THIS SEQUENCE IS from Charlie Chaplin's classic comedy, The Gold Rush (1925). It begins in segment 6 (click here), starts at 8:52 and ends at 9:41 (use the control bar), at 49 seconds. Chaplin used lengthy shots to showcase his pantomime. Another example is the skating sequence from Modern Times (1936), which requires a unity of space (that is "real" space) for its comic effect (view here).
