THE SCHEDULED FILM for 16 May 2008 is Network (Sidney Lumet, 1976), a satiric look at the television media as a political force. Three of its main stars won Oscars (Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch, Beatrice Straight), while William Holden was also nomianted as Best Actor. Finch was the only actor ever to win the Oscar posthumously (after his death). Cinematographer Owen Roizman was also Oscar nominated, while screenwriter Paddy Chayevsky won the Oscar for his script.
    Other nominations included Best Picture, Director (Sidney Lumet, who also directed Dog Day Afternoon), Ned Beatty for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and Alan Heim for Editing.
